Experiment and parameter optimization of an automatic row following system for the traction beet combine harvester

To improve the automation level and operation quality of China's beet harvester reduce loss due to damaged missed excavation, this study used a self-developed sugar combine field simulation experiment platform, based on single-factor bench test automatic row following system in early stage, taking hydraulic flow A, spring preload B, forward speed C which have significant influence performance indices as factors, excavation rate, breakage rate reaction time indices, orthogonal experimental parameter optimization three-factor three-level with first-order interaction various factors was carried out. The results experiments were analyzed using range analysis variance analysis. showed that there differences degree, factor priority order interaction, optimal combination each index. A weighted comprehensive scoring method optimize analyze overall operating A2B2C1, is, 25 L/min, 0.8 m/s, 198 N. Under combination, response 0.496 s, 2.35%, 3.65%, relatively good, can meet harvest requirements. verified by different ridge shapes planting patterns. mean values patterns conventional straight ridges extremely large "S" 2.23% 2.69%, respectively, maximum 2.39% 2.98%, respectively; average damage rates 3.38% 4.14%, 3.58% 4.48%, industry standards quality. adaptability is good. This provide reference for research harvesting systems beets other subsoil crop harvesters.
